GuildifiCon (Previously LitCON) started in 2021, celebrating LitRPG, Fantasy, and SciFi Authors, Narrators, and Fans! GuildifiCon 2023 is an Online event.
LitRPG, aka Literature Role Playing Game, first emerged in the English speaking world in 2015. Over the next year, only a small number of books were published in this almost unknown genre. On Oct 26th, 2015, the first ever social media group for LitRPG was founded on Facebook for the express purpose of growing this amazing genre through two mechanisms.
1. Creating a positive virtual space for any fans of LitRPG to congregate.
2. Encouraging new authors to contribute to the genre and providing the tools and audience to they would need to succeed.
The founding of the group marked the first ever LitRPG day. The 6th LitRPG day now commemorates the first ever LitRPG convention!
From the humble beginnings of barely a dozen LitRPG novels being for sale in English in 2015, LitRPG has now grown to include hundreds of authors and thousands of novels. In addition to finding a resonance in the hearts of readers and gamers, old and young alike, the LitRPG community remains stalwart in its desire to foster a positive environment in cyberspace and to be a force for good in the world.
